Chapin Presbyterian is committed to missions in Chapin, in other parts of our country, and around the world.
Our Missions emphasis began in the early years of the church by supporting three missionaries through our general church budget. This was a stretch for us in the early days, but it was exciting.
After much study and prayer, in 2007, we began to support overseas missions through faith promise giving. Our first faith promise giving effort raised over $100,000 from our congregation, and we were able to increase the number of missionaries we support. We currently support 12 full-time overseas missionaries. For information about the missionaries we support, check out the display at the world map in the Main Hall.
We also encourage our members to participate in overseas missions trips. Our first trip was to an orphanage in Acapulco, Mexico. Since then our two areas of emphasis for trips are Nicaragua and Hungary.
