Next Steps

Grace to you and Peace to all of our CPC Family,

The Session met this month and is continuing to make plans for our future. I wanted to catch you up on some of the details from our meeting.

  1.  Discussing next steps, the Session decided to allow small group gatherings to happen outside on church grounds or at people’s homes. Open air is believed to be the best way to meet, but we leave that up to each group. We want to continue to encourage social distancing, and highlight that the church building will not yet be open for meetings on Sundays or during the week.
  2.  Several groups are making plans to begin meeting again with the above criteria in mind including Gravity, Reformed Student groups, and the Retired Men’s Bible Study.
  3.  Beginning June 14th on Sunday morning, we will offer infant nursery for birth to 2yrs old. If you are willing to volunteer to help keep young ones during the service, please contact Mrs. Jackie Linder.
  4.  Sunday School and choir rehearsals and other “in building” activities are not yet open. We are continuing to monitor information and discuss when we will increase weekly activity.
  5.  This coming Lord’s Day is our Faith Promise Sunday. We will be hearing from two different missionary couples that we support who will be worshiping with us, and Dr. John Harvey is returning to preach for us. Faith Promise pledge cards will be available beginning Sunday. We ask you to prayerfully consider how the Lord is leading you to give above your tithe in support of missionaries around the world. The card is for you to fill out and return anonymously so that we can gauge giving for the upcoming year and then forecast to our missionaries how much money they can expect from us in the upcoming year. The total forecasted amount will be divided up among the missionaries that we support.

We continue to pray for the Lord to grant us wisdom and safety in the days ahead. Pray with us for His glory to be on display in and through our particular body. Thank you for your patience and your continued encouragement as we follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the days ahead.

In Christ alone,

Pastor Dinkins
