Psalm 130:5–8

I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption. And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities. (ESV)

Dear CPC Family,

It seems we have waited quite a while to be able to gather together again. There is a certain creation rhythm that has been thrown off in all of this effort to keep Covid-19 at bay. I am ready to get some of that rhythm back. We will attempt to do so this coming Sunday, May 17th, as we worship together again at 600 Old Lexington Hwy. The Church is not a building and we are not wed to a particular location, but assembling together is something that we have missed greatly.

Maybe we are realizing we should value worship more than we did. Perhaps we had taken worship for granted, perhaps we had grown lazy in our pursuit of the means of grace – the word, the sacraments, and corporate prayer. Maybe we needed a forced fast to shake the cobwebs from our hearts and minds. The Lord has certainly changed the landscape!

  • Please pray with me for the Lord’s continued protection of our body.
  • Please plan to arrive early to these Phase 1 services. We need time to get everyone moved in and seated prior to worship.
  • Please be patient with us as leadership as we navigate this time and carefully instruct you on Sundays.
  • Please participate according to the level of freedom your conscience allows. If you are free to come and worship, please come. If you have a concern about corporate gatherings, please stay home and worship with us online. There will be a livestream of the service on Sunday morning. We will email and post a link to the livestream.
  • Please look for ways we can continue to serve our neighbors around us who are in need. Now is a great time for new faces to join, this is all new to us so they will fit right in!

I’m thankful to be here in these times with you. My family is beyond ready to graft into this body. We are looking forward to working our way back together and growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord with you.

Pressing on,

Pastor Dinkins
